How Does The Bernoulli Self-cleaning Filter Operate?

A. The flushing sequence is initiated by a timer setting or triggered by a differential pressure sensor before any blockage of the filter basket causes flow reduction.

B. In the pre-flushing stage, the flushing valve opens and larger particles are flushed out.

C. During the flushing sequence, a specially shaped flushing disc mounted on a pneumatic cylinder enters the filter basket and creates a gap between the disc and the filter basket. This movement allows water to pass through the gap, increasing the flow velocity around the disc.

D. As the flow velocity increases locally around the disc, the static pressure is reduced in accordance with the Bernoulli Principle. This results in a vacuum effect at the disc edge, which effectively reverses the direction of the flow. The lower static pressure creates a suction that causes the filtrate to back-flush the filter basket, releasing particles stuck to its surface.

E. The released particles are led out from the filter, completing the cleaning cycle.

This process ensures that the filter remains free of blockages, maintaining optimal flow and efficiency. By leveraging the principles of fluid dynamics, the Bernoulli self-cleaning filter effectively cleans itself without interrupting system operation.

The Bernoulli self-cleaning filter is supported by a control panel with a programmable logic controller (PLC), a flush valve including an actuator, and a differential pressure sensor. This robust design incorporates only two moving parts: the clean disc and the flushing valve, ensuring a simple and reliable structure.

Non-Contact Cleaning: The filter is engineered to perform non-contact cleaning, which prevents particle extrusion out of the filter screen, maintaining efficient filtration.

Consistent Performance: It delivers a low and consistent pressure drop, even less than 11KPa, whether clean or dirty, and operates efficiently with a very low working pressure requirement down to 30KPa.

Wide Flow Rate Range: The filter can handle a broad flow rate range from 30 to 8000 m³/h through a single filter, with filtration degrees ranging from 150 to 2000μm.

Continuous Operation: Remarkably, there's no filtration interruption during self-cleaning, ensuring seamless operation.

Installation Flexibility

Thanks to the flexible nozzle orientation, Bernoulli filters can be installed in almost any position, whether horizontal or vertical. Since the Bernoulli filter operates as a pressure filter, it is always installed downstream of the feed pump. This flexibility allows for easy integration into various systems, accommodating both horizontal and vertical installations effortlessly.
